Mind = Blown.

Dig this. For Christmas my grandpa got me this “digital photography” book that had a few neat tricks in it. One of them was how to make your own stereo images. I put one together of an old picture of my younger brother (he’s more handsome now). Check it out - cross your eyes halfway like it was a 3d eye image and you’ll see Sean in 3D~!

Get Stuffed!

Thursday, January 25th, 2007

I’ve been showing this to random people and promoting it the best I can, but I’m a new fan of the UK series “The Mighty Boosh.” It’s seriously my new favorite show - up there in the ranks with The Office and Arrested Development. Still being funny but distinctively a different humor than most shows. I think most of my favorite jokes are actually just the dialogue between Howard and Vince…I’d tell you a lot about it, but I’ll just let you watch it when you feel bored.

Go to www.dailymotion.com and do a search for “The Mighty Boosh.” Just about every episode is on there - enjoy!

Big image - look out!

So, the first couple weeks of my CGT 411 class (some kind of professional practices thing) has been nothing but long spiraling lectures with little value. I have spent these lectures and some other time working on a collection of 3×5 notecards with black and red pen and making them in 3’s in what I call “triptychs.” Anyways, here’s the latest one, and whenever I have a dry spell of posting I’ll put up the ones I made last week.

I’m Getting Smarter With Sounds

Tuesday, January 23rd, 2007

I know you’re sitting around thinking to yourself “why can’t I concentrate, sleep, slow down the aging process, wake up in the morning or become more creative?” The reason you can’t is because you’re a failure, and you’re doomed to be subpar in everything you do - but wait! There’s hope!

http://www.bwgen.com/ Brain Wave Generator

This site has a program you can download that will generate “binaural frequencies” when you’re wearing headphones. It’s my understanding that these are basically inaudible frequencies that are generated by playing a different frequency in each ear, and leading your brain to create the difference as a sub-audible sound. Why do this? According to Wikipedia (my foremost resource for blog research):

“some believe that binaural beats can influence functions of the brain besides those related to hearing. This phenomenon is called frequency following response. The concept is that if one receives a stimulus with a frequency in the range of brain waves, the predominant brain wave frequency is said to be likely to move towards the frequency of the stimulus (a process called entrainment).”
I know! Can you believe it! I have a collection of effects, some of which actually claim to be things as far fetched as anti-aging, astral projection, weight loss, grow-your-hair-back. Ridiculous. I called bullcrap on this, but I’m playing with it anyways - if you see me next time with a full(er) head of hair, a long beard, walking with a confident stride, 10 pounds lighter, and well-rested you can take that as undeniable proof of the placebo effect.

Brave New World

Monday, January 22nd, 2007

Well, here we go. A whole new blog and a whole new website. Don’t be surprised if things are continually being changed around here, but to start out I’ll just post something that I’ve been up to lately. Since I have this whole new website and my own host and everything, I’m hosting a few things that I’ve done lately - namely some rockstar watercolors. I’ve been sort of getting into at least giving watercolor a shot, and so here’s the results of my experiments.

Oh, also I should mention that “Waus” is just sort of a slur of my last name and the ‘designer name’ that I decided to use for my works from here on.
