Savvy?

Tuesday, May 29th, 2007

I had a pretty fun practice session with some Clip-Ons members the other night at the Kirgiss house. I don’t know of those recordings will be surfacing here or not, but I finally finished an old project with color half-tones that I was working on. I was honestly intending to do the whole band, but I did the first sketch and just kind of lost interest in taking all that time…looks self-centered now. Well if the front man can’t be on a graphic then who can!? Hah. More experiments on the way…looking into doing some stuff with web design just as examples for potential clients. Oh, also, videos with my brother perhaps? We’ll have to come up with a comedy troupe name.

edit: If you use Facebook, you’ve been seeing this picture for months. I know I ought to change it…but to what!?

And the beat goes on.

What’s up. I’ve been hanging around working looking for a job. That about sums it up. Spending time with Stacey, going to grad parties for younglife friends, the works. I think I’m winding down the ink-drip creation period and I’m thinking about focusing on some more technical projects. The real question is what I’m going to do that’s more technical that’s worth doing, amirite? Anyways, check out these things and a picture of me and Stace.

Bang Bang. Benicio Del Toro?
Obey.

Post Graduate

Sunday, May 13th, 2007

Well here I am. Graduated. Can you believe it!? That took a lot of work, I’ll tell you what. It’s been a bit of a whirlwind the last few weeks, so I haven’t posted anything. I’ve been applying to a few different jobs (notice the updated portfolio page). I’m still trying to figure out how things are going to work now that college is over, can’t say I really have a feel for it just yet.

I know what you’re saying though - you’re saying “but Matt, what have you done that I’m interested in lately?” Let me tell you. I’ve been experimenting with melted wax to make patterns. The corner of my portfolio page is an early example (some wallpapers and stuff came from that too, maybe I’ll post them sometime), but the three I’m showing you here are just little tidbits of my experiments with the ‘ink drip’ sort of style. I’m trying to be very DIY with a lot of this so that I have rights to the images and develop my own flavor and everything. Here’s three little works.
