Still making brushes at work, got about half the set done today. Here’s some experimental using of them. Sorry if it seems a little egotistic - I feel weird getting pictures of other people to use.
Working on some new brush sets that will be commercially available at work. Here’s something inspired by Signalnoise.
Hi!
I decided to get into the business of creating brush sets. I figured I’d just wing it for this first pack, and I used some old standbys of mine to make a little something I call “Print Artifacts.” Feel free to download and use these brushes, just give me some feedback - or better yet hire me for something!

Back to posting, new life.
I worked on this for a guy in my church, and I came up with something (we’re not using, incidentally) of Jesus in the shape of those Obama “HOPE” posters by Shepherd Fairey. I claim no originality on this, I just thought I’d start of new posting with something interesting.

Hey guys! I don’t know how many of you were aware of this site, but it’s been around for a while. It’s called threadless.com - and you design t-shirts and try to win contests to have them go into production. You win, and you get $2,000 just like that. Anyways, I got a t-shirt book for christmas, and it reminded me of this site so I decided to start working on a few designs. Some are new, some are based on old work. Check it out! Oh, btw, take this link and buy something - and I GET MONEY!!
Here’s some of my first designs, which I submitted to the “critique” section to see how they stacked up.

::UPDATE::
I submitted this one for scoring - check it out!
and I thought about spiders.
You know - if I could reason with them, I don’t think we’d hate eachother so much. I could talk with them, and say “Yo, you can stay here for as long as stuff goes into your web, but please stay in the web. Wear this ankle bracelet, and it will work as a house-arrest for spiders.”
“Okay, now you can stay in here until you don’t catch anything anymore, that’s the deal. No biting any non-insects. When you’re done here, I ask that you politely clean up your web and crawl out anywhere between the hours of 2am and 5am. Any bugs you catch while you’re living here is strictly your property, and I will not request a manager’s cut. Thank you.”
That much. It’d be so simple, and besides still not wanting to look at their hideous bodies or grisly bug-work, I could actually learn to live with spiders.
Unfortunately they don’t listen to me. So they die.
Wow have I been busy. It’s just crazy - working full time and being gone every weekend to my parent’s or Stacey’s. Here’s a little update on some stuff I’ve made.
Mike and I put together this video for the Ron Paul ad competition - he did all the animation (he’s amazing at that stuff) and I drew some of the shapes and helped with concepts.
Let’s see, other than that I made a few mix CDs for the Kirgiss family and some for Stacey. If anyone who reads this wants one let me know!

I’ve been sort of painting a few things too, but I don’t really have any good scans of them right now. Sorry.
I had some banking trouble this week. That was a mess…but it’s getting cleared up now.

This got me thinking though, you remember in Monopoly how you’d get a bank error in your favor? You know - you’d be in a lot of trouble once they corrected the error and found out you spent those funds on Baltic avenue. No amount of 4$ rent is going to get you out of this one buddy. All those “just visiting” trips to jail are going to be a cruel irony now.
Word.
I’m finally starting to get a little settled in here, so here’s a little something to shake things up.
1) First, here’s a little trick that my dad taught me when I was a kid. If you want to kill a fly, but can’t hit it fast enough (sans-flyswatter) or don’t want to make a mess - try this:

The key here is to swing your hand 3 or 6 inches above the fly. Yes, 3 or 6 because I’m terrible at judging these things. You don’t try to smash it, just swing over it - the fly will jump up to escape right into your awaiting hand. It’ll be surprised like Ben Affleck was surprised in Pearl Harbor (or at least how ticketholders were surprised that they received no refund in the mail).
Also, and this is partially just to set myself up in competition with Ryan Church (who was pretty braggadocio about the hot dog sizzler he was getting), I’ve developed an entirely new hot dog cooking technique. Throw some olive oil in the pan, set on high, and cook those hot dogs the way Jesus Christ, Pavarotti, or a young John Coltrane would have. With flair, style, and taste.

note: wouldn’t it just make you feel great to know that Mensa had a crappy website?
